roots
We went back to Lancaster County, PA for a family reunion on my dad's side. Lancaster County is where my dad grew up as well as my grandparents. I love getting to see family and the beautiful scenery....getting back to my roots. Since I was a little girl, I have been fascinated by the Amish people. I have always gotten so excited to spot a horse and buggy. This trip was no different and I found myself getting excited about capturing some moments in Amish life. This way of life seems simple, yet complex. Can you imagine doing daily tasks without the help of modern conveniences? I just love some of these pictures.......

day out with thomas
Our first day in Lancaster my parents took us to A Day out with Thomas. We had taken the boys before in CO, but our train ride was much better this time. We went through lots of Amish countryside which is where I got a lot of my pictures. My Grandma Martin who is 95 went along too. She is a trooper! The boys loved being on a real train. I never really thought they would get into something so much, but they LOVE Thomas!

1st camping trip of the summer
We went camping with our good friends this weekend and found a great spot with gorgeous views. It was a nice ending to my hectic school year and a great way to kick off our summer. The boys, 5 in all, loved playing with their trucks in the dirt, collecting wood for the fire, and roasting marshmellows. When it was time for bed, the boys were pretty wound up, so I took N to the car to just sit and mellow. There was a full moon and he said to me, "Mama, the moon gives off light so the trees can see when it's dark out." So precious, and deep!
